RIM FIRE UPDATE, September 30th , 8:44 a.m.

Tuolumne County, CA -- Officials are now projecting full containment of the Rim Fire by October 6th. 

287 firefighters are on scene this morning, and the fire is listed as 92% contained and 257,135 acres. Crews will continue to repair suppression lines this week and monitor for hot spots. No structures are considered threatened. 98 outbuildings were destroyed by the fire, 11 homes and three commercial buildings. There have been 10 injuries to firefighters.


The Mi Wuk Sugar Pine Fire Protection District Auxiliary will be offering a fabulous tee-shirt in a few weeks.  The photo on the tee was taken by a firefighter from Oakland, whose strike team was assigned up the hill in the Long Barn area.  STAND BY.  :)
