MI WUK WEATHER: WEEK OF OCTOBER 17th, 2010

Finally, we're getting some real rain.  Light, but rain.

MWSP Fire Protection District Auxiliary Fundraising $$ at work

At Wednesday's monthly meeting of the Fire Department Auxiliary (no longer the 'ladies' auxiliary as both men and women are more than welcome!), Chief Randy Miller showed off, with thanks, the new 'turn out' coat, part of the 'turn out gear' that was purchased with funds raised by the Auxiliary for the paid fire fighters.  He said that they are fabulous and offer so much more safety than their previous gear.  AND, they identify us as the Mi-Wuk Sugar Pine FPD, rather than just Tuolumne County.  Our Fire Department is slowly receiving a lot of the respect it deserves!

FYI, the Mi Wuk Sugar Pine Fire Protection District Auxiliary, meets at noon on the second Wednesday of the month, in the great room of the Highway 108, Station 77, Fire Station.  Lunch ($5) at noon, followed by a business meeting at 12.30.

Mi Wuk / Sugar Pine Fire Protection District SPAGHETTI DINNER

Our second Spaghetti Dinner for 2010 was held tonight at the Highway 108 Fire Station in Sugar Pine, CA.  We had approximately 200 diners, both eat in and take out.  What a fun time shared with our community!  If you couldn't be there, think about joining us for the next one.  The date will be announced on this blog in plenty of time for you to put it on your calendar.

Kirk Wallace is packing up a salad-to-go, complete with a little dressing container.  Probably 15% of our attendees took advantage of our take out opportunity.

Thank you, community, for supporting our great fire department through the Auxiliary's Spaghetti Dinner.  (All proceeds go toward the needs of the fire fighters.)  And thanks too, to the non-local passers-by for popping in, enjoying a great meal, and saying HI.  I understand the aroma of the yummy sauce was wafting out onto the highway.  And thanks to the weather for cooperating!

REAL RAIN ON OCTOBER 2nd

Yes neighbors, it was 84 F. and sunny until around 2-3 p.m. when it became overcast, thunderheads up towards the summit, and it turned to rain.  Real rain, not sprinkles.  51F. at 9:00 p.m.  What will tomorrow bring?

And remember, a week from today, October 9th,  is the Spaghetti Dinner at the Mi Wuk Sugar Pine Fire Station on Highway 108.  4-7 p.m.  Sure do hope the weather straightens up!

MAHA BOARD MEETING

There will be a board meeting of MAHA, the Mi Wuk Area Home Owners Association, on Friday, October 1, 2010, 1:00 p.m., at the Mi Wuk Community Center/Little Library in the Woods, located on Sierra Park Drive, near the Mi Wuk post office.   Everyone is welcome.
