CHILI MORNING AND A LITTLE SNOW AT 4500'

There's a chance (20%) of a little more snow this morning (Sunday, March 30th) followed by sunshine this afternoon.  Woohoo.  We have about an inch of snow on our deck and in unprotected areas.  It's bare ground under the trees.

And here's my favorite National Weather Service site for a pretty much pinpointed forecast for Twain Harte/Mi Wuk/Sugar Pine area.

WINTER STORM WARNING ABOVE 5500 FEET

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for the Sierra Nevada above 5500 feet from Tuesday 3 PM through Thursday 11 AM.

Half a foot to two feet of snow accumulation is expected above 5000 feet.

Winds of twenty-five to forty-five mph are likely with gusts up to seventy mph along the crest.

Up to an inch of rain is forecast in the central valley with up to two inches of rain in the Mother Lode.

Additionally, there is a chance of thunderstorms during the afternoon and evening hours both Tuesday and Wednesday. Heavy rain, hail and an isolated tornado may all be possible threats.

There will be a decreasing threat of showers on Thursday. However, additional storm systems are likely later in the week.

And, apparently we have a local resident to thank for this coming weather:   "Drought stricken CA has me to thank for these storms, it was a guarantee we would see foul weather once I planted my garden...."

EASY PEASY..........MOVE THOSE CLOCK HANDS TONIGHT........

Tonight's the night, or early tomorrow morning, to move those clock hands forward!

Don't forget to change your smoke alarm batteries as you move your clocks forward one hour.  You can get up and do it at 2:00 a.m. or do it before you go to bed.

Here's another way to help you remember which way to move your clock:

(No, it's not really spring; it's just another reminder to 'spring forward'.)

WHAT DO YOU DO WITH EXCESS PINE NEEDLES?

WELCOME TO MARCH!

The last 24 hours have been wind and rain.  And some lovely sun.  The wind shook a lot of those pine needles that have been hanging on in the trees to the ground.  Russ, my hubby, came in the house about 15 minutes ago, all excited to show me something NEW to do with the pine needles that fell in the driveway:

Pretty clever, huh?  Yes he has other things to do but this was a fun way to spend some time and get a bit warm smile out of me!
