WHAT HAPPENING IN THE HIGH COUNTRY?

It's always nice to get some information for the blog.  Thank you Arlen Richardson, former MAHA President, spouse of our Post Master, Cathy, and sort of honorary man-about-town.  If it's happening, Arlen probably knows about it.

** The Pine Cone Restaurant has closed due to a small electrical fire.  Building owner (not Pine Cone operators) not willing to make repairs.  The Pine Cone has been an strong supporter with our annual Spaghetti Fund Raiser Dinners at the 108 Fire Station by helping the committee with food purchases and will be sorely missed.
  • Unsubstantiated:  the building has been sold.
  • Unsubstantiated:  it is not known if the space will reopen as a restaurant.
** RUMOR has it that a BBQ place will open in the old donut shop in Sierra Village.

** RUMOR also that a Mexican Restaurant may open at the site of the old Courtyard Restaurant in Sierra Village.

As with a lot of buildings in the county, the county 'powers' may cause a delay in any plans.

** The Mi Wuk  Water Company reported at least 10 frozen pipe leaks in homes from the cold spell back around New Years.  Seems as if an article about pipe preparation would be in order right here on the blog.

** We've had temps in the mid forties for lows and mid fifties for highs this past week---a nice false spring.   Things are due to change on Thursday with some rain and the snow level down lower but not a lot.  Be prepared.
