THANKS FOR SUPPORTING *OUR* MI WUK / SUGAR PINE FIRE DEPARTMENT

What a beautiful day we had today for the annual PANCAKE BREAKFAST.  It's always held as close as possible to the 4th of July.

It's a lot of fun working with a great committee of Fire Auxiliary members to put this breakfast together.  And it's also so much fun to see our neighbors, full and part timers.  Here's a bit of the story in pictures:

Clowns in the kitchen:  Russ Klipple and Arlen Richardson.

Nancy Dumas, Dale Armstrong and Maury Leal prepare the pancake mix for these guys below:

L > R: Austin (intern), Duty Officer Neil Gamez, Michael Garza (intern), Shauta Murray (intern), and Duty Officer Paul Brandow.  They were great pancake turners, coming up with spiral, banana and mickey mouse pancakes.

Greeters:  Eleanor Sloper, Ida Stewart and Dolores Moneski.

Manning the table showing logo shirts, cards-for-grownups at the Mi Wuk Library, Mi Wuk coffee mugs, and Auxiliary membership forms is Patty Noe.

Laurie Kirk and her visiting sister, Nancy-from-Hesperia, dole out pancakes.........

.......that have been prepared by our fire fighters.  This is Michael.

Toni Richardson, Bessie, and Clarene Schupp guard the scrambled eggs and sausages.

Bea, Karen Schultz, Eileen Hill and Nonie Ohlsen are in charge of beverages.

Ellen Heald, auxiliary president, Alvena Leal and Alice Smith take a break from cooking eggs.

Hmmmmm, let's see:  Mike Welch, Russ Klipple and Tim Wallace were......guarding the place!  Actually they were all around helpers, primarily sausage but anything else that needed doing was in their purview.

I love photos taken from behind the subjects--here, the serving line.

 And here, the pancake turning.

 Pat Bremicker:  coffee anyone???

Still pouring out the pancake batter, Dale, Maury and Linda.

Fire Fighter Neil Gamez, his wife Valerie and little guy, Chad.

THE COMMITTEE:
L > R: Alice Smith, Blythe Klipple and Linda Clark

What was extra fun about today, for me anyway, was that I got to meet Bert and Don Smith, Mi Wuk part-timers from Cupertino who are readers of our blog.  Now they know that "Blythe Klipple" really does exist.

And I got to share hugs with Cindy and David Zbin whom I've met several times (thanks for coming out!!!)---and meeting them was also through this blog.  Thanks so much for coming over and saying HI.

THANK YOU COMMUNITY, FRIENDS, NEIGHBORS, AUXILIARY MEMBERS, FIRE FIGHTERS and MY HUSBAND, RUSS, who gets rail-roaded into all the events--and loves it!

PUT SEPTEMBER 1st ON YOUR CALENDAR!
