Fraudulent ATM Purchases Reported
Sonora, CA-- Recently the Tuolumne County Sheriff's Office has received multiple calls from the public regarding fraudulent use of their ATM cards.

"Many of the victims are here in the Sonora area," said Sgt. Jeff Wilson. "The purchases are taking place in most of the southern states but some have also been reported in Nevada. We're asking the public to report any information like this so that we can send it to our investigation's people and make some headway on this case."

Wilson says the Tuolumne County Sheriff's Department has received 17 reports from residents regarding fraudulant ATM use.

If you have used an ATM in the Jamestown or Sonora areas in April or May, please check your banking statements for unauthorized usage.  If you find anything out of line, be sure to contact the Sheriff's Department.  (209)533-5855.
