HIGHWAY 108 'PHASE 2' BY-PASS CHANGES

Have you driven up to Mi Wuk and surrounding communities in the past week or so on Highway 108?  Or have you left the Mi Wuk area on Highway 108?  (No other choice is there?!)  Progress does come at a price, literally and figuratively.

I sure got an eye-opener on Monday afternoon, heading 'down the hill' towards Dublin:  couldn't turn right on Peaceful Oaks Rd. and had to go down to Hess, s-l-o-w-l-y, to get onto the bypass and start my journey.

Coming home late yesterday afternoon, Tuesday, I saw why!  Mind you, I was driving and just held my iPhone up and snapped.  The sun was low in the sky, around 7.30 p.m.

Along side Hess Avenue on ramp

Below:  just before the curve, heading toward the RED light at Peaceful Oaks Rd. ---downhill land has been dug up.  Lots of work going on to the left of the lane.  Getting ready for ........ ???  There is no longer a usually GREEN right arrow at the turn.

Below:  Big equipment on the job

Below: Pavement dug down 3-5 inches.  Hard to see dimension while driving.  :)

Below: Farther up 108, after new overpass, before Via Este; getting ready for transition access onto 108 from new bypass ??

Below:  Heavy equipment at the ready

Below:  LOTS of cones.  Must have raided a cone factory!  :)  (Sorry, my humor.)

Below:  Approaching Via Este where coning ends, or begins, depending upon which direction you're going.

That's it for now.  I'll have to check the newspaper to read what is written about this phase.  If you have information, please share!  And be sure to add a bit of travel time to your arrival or departure.

By the way.........the weather is beautiful!
